The Bishops have gone all indie on us. New EP Sojourn is already available in this part of the world and on the evidence of the first two songs it sounds like the 60s garage beat/indie pop sound of their first two albums has been replaced by a more relaxed approach to say the least.
Having added a fourth member, the Bishop twin brothers little brother Alex coming in on bass and vocal duties, it seems the band is ready to try pastures new. There’s violins, nice vocal harmonies and a nice Smiths sound in the guitars, to grasp at one possible influence if I may.
So it’s out with the old black and white sharp suited Bishops and in with the new look, hairy and beardy boys with denim and cowboy shirts. Should keep the ladies happy.
